We celebrate World Smile Day on the first Friday in October and this year it falls on October 7, 2022. First celebrated in 1999, World Smile Day is a day devoted to smiles and acts of kindness.

And what is the background? The person behind this is Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts who created the ‘smiley’ face in 1963. This day materialized as a response to his creation of the smiley face. Don’t we know that image has emerged as the most recognizable symbol of good will and good cheer today? Our conversations online is always punctuated with smileys. In fact, the Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation has the motto “Enhancing this world, one smile.” Significantly, World Smile Day is the perfect day to make others smile!

But, a smile should not be a luxory for a few.

Your smile can do wonders for your business. People definitely respond positively to people who smile.

In the business world, if you smile, you’ll encourage your employees to be more open, communicative and innovative too. When an entrepreneur creates a culture of openness at a new company, it can make a big difference to both employees’ and customers’ enthusiasm.

Smiling – heightens the power of your business

What’s the impact your smile can have on your business? It can actually play a big role in the success of your business. It can help your business grow – so it’s important to practice what you preach.

In the world of marketing, one of the most important things to understand is that, at its core, marketing is about engaging and building relationships. To build those relationships, you need to build trust with the people you’re trying to reach. The best way to build trust is by showing people that you genuinely care about their thoughts and feelings. So, the next time you find yourself out at an event or meeting or anywhere else, do remember to smile. A little smile can go a long way towards building relationships with others.

Your smile should make the world a better place because your smile represents hope and encouragement.

People want to do business with people they like. They want to do business with people who are authentic, genuine, and fun to be around. A smile and a great attitude can go a long way to creating a welcoming environment for entrepreneurs and their teams.

There’s no denying the power of a smile. Regardless of your business, a great smile will help attract customers and build trust. And as we’ve seen, it will also make you a happier person. What more could you ask for?

So, keep going against all odds because we can prove we are greater than our odds every day – with smiles.
