Women entrepreneurs in India may help create up to 170  mn jobs by 2030



Women entrepreneurs in India can generate 150-170 million jobs by 2030, which is more than 25% of the new jobs required for the entire working-age population, according to a joint report released on Tuesday by Bain and Co. and Google titled Women Entrepreneurship in India—Powering the economy with her. The report identifies six dominant segments of women entrepreneurs and says that despite India’s economic progress in the last decade, women’s participation in the labour force has declined and is expected to be under pressure because of labour trends, technological disruption, and constraining social barriers.
