The lockdown is on for sure, but a new initiative has been launched for women. Now women can report domestic violence cases. Women Entrepreneurs For Transformation Foundation launched a subtle and effective initiative called “Red Dot”. Red is really an eye-catching colour and under this initiative, people can identify a domestic violence victim by seeing a red dot on her palm and can then inform NGOs or authorities.

Incidentally, domestic abuse, which is definitely a crime, has seen a sudden spike ever since the lockdown was imposed in India, following the unprecedented coronavirus outbreak. During this lockdown, crime has had a sudden surge. This has impacted the victims of domestic violence, who suddenly find themselves trapped in their homes with their abusers.

Many women have been put into this pathetic state of affairs, and they are either unable or too afraid to call the police to get help to move out.
