Until four months ago, 34-year-old Renu Kumari, whose primary income comes from running an eatery business, was spending close to ₹1,700 a month on electricity—a large portion of her monthly income of ₹20,000. Now, thanks to solar energy, her electricity bills are zero, making it possible to save money for her children’s hostel fees.
