A two-day expo hosted by the CII-Indian Women Network in Puducherry, women entrepreneurs from across the region showcased a host of their products.
According to CII-IWN, the objective of the expo titled ‘Inspire Entrepreneurship Expo’ was to offer a platform for women entrepreneurs to not just showcase their products, but to open a host of networking opportunities with other entrepreneurs, industrialists and potential buyers.
Chief minister V Narayanasamy inaugurated the first edition of the CII-IWN in the presence of industries minister MOHF Shahjahan at the Jayaram Thirumana Nilayam on Saturday.
The event managers also hoped to help the participating enterprises to capitalise on the Diwali shopping season that is just around the corner.
Nearly 50 exhibitors participated in the expo. Amid a variety of items put up in the exhibition of talent and grit, the most prominent were jewellery, footwear, art and handicrafts, food, textiles, accessories, household articles, beauty and healthcare.
A number of startups featured at the show which concluded on Sunday.
The event was also attended by M Kalaiichelvan, chairman of CII Puducherry and M Sanakaranarayanan, its vice-chairman; Vanaja Vaithianathan, chairwoman, IWN Puducherry; and Anamika Sarogi, vice-chairwoman.
