Tribal women in remote Gumla become entrepreneurs, produce sanitary pads

In a remote area of Gumla, a group of 15 tribal women from the Jai Sarna Mahila Mandal (SHG) in Dumri block have turned into entrepreneurs by producing standard sanitary pads for the first time. This new enterprise, under Project Kishori, is committed to addressing the hygiene issues arising from menstruation and providing permanent employment to women. Dumri, located 75 km from the district headquarters, is an Aspirational block in Gumla under Niti Aayog’s Vocal For Local initiative. Read more
