On Tuesday, February 11th, the Indian Government’s Startup India mission announced the results of its longstanding collaboration with Zoho. Implemented in 2016, the initiative joined hands with the Indian web-based online office suite, to enhance entrepreneurship in the country.
Startup India works to promote and support technology-based entrepreneurship, by providing access to the necessary education and development, along with incubation facilities.
As part of the mission, a fund of INR 10,000 Cr. has also been created to encourage Indian startups through financial support. Its partnership with Zoho was aimed at helping it implement Zoho One, an innovative and intuitive business applications platform.
The company offers up to a year of free access to Zoho office suites to emerging entrepreneurs and startups which have been recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. Through its services, the brand provides an integrated platform for sales, marketing, support, accounting, and operations, to name a few. This helps automate many of these critical business functions, so that startups can instead, focus on the growth and development of their business.
Startup India announced on Twitter that more than 5000 entrepreneurs have reaped the benefits of its collaboration with Zoho. It added that the company has, till date, disbursed a total combined fund of INR 15 Cr.
In the years to come, Zoho plans to further explore possibilities for partnerships with State Governments, with the aim of providing support to the Indian startup ecosystem at a more grass-roots level.
