The organisation believes in delivering sustainable growth and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs. Functioning is looked after by a board of directors and was established in the year2013. Its functions include wider representation from the business community, including young entrepreneurs. It provides access to finance, conducts business facilitation activities, provides business mentorship and networking opportunities, delivers government policy among the people of Barbados and take active part in education and talent development activities. Its vision is to make Barbados ‘Entrepreneur’s Island’ by 2020.

The organisation was founded in the year 1930 by Dr. Lena Madesin Philips and today it is one of the most influential international networks of business and professional women. It is active in 95 countries and in five continents. It has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and participatory status with Council of Europe. The members of the federation include women leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, professionals and young career women. it is dedicated to develop the professional, leadership and business potential of women on all levels through advocacy, mentoring, networking, skill building and our economic empowerment programs and projects around the world.

It is a World Bank Group’s multi-donor program that aids entrepreneurs of developing countries. It holds together a global network of business incubators and innovation hubs for climate technologies, agribusiness and digital entrepreneurs. It also publishes educational resources on topics like crowdfunding, angel investing and business incubator management. It tries to connect entrepreneurs with the knowledge, funding and markets they require in order to grow their business.

It aims to cater the needs of micro, small and medium enterprise sector through representation, impactful training and purposeful business development services. It advocates services on behalf of the members and provide networking and other business opportunities to any small business entrepreneur. It is a community of established organisations that are working with young people for setting up entrepreneurial businesses in Caribbean. It has been working in the Caribbean since 2012 and its main aim is to develop and strengthen the ecosystem for young entrepreneurs in the Caribbean. It provides development services, mentoring and access to finance to young people so that they can establish their own business.
