Paraguay:

  1. Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO)

The organization is a privately owned philanthropic organization working to empower women and girls in order to alleviate poverty. Wendy Diamond a Social entrepreneur is the CEO of the organization. She invests in social impact, disruptive technologies and women lead businesses. The organization has started a new campaign which is digital and the portal is named #ChooseWomen. It is a movement for grassroots that empowers, celebrates and supports women in business worldwide.

  1. Paraguay’s Poverty Spotlight

This is a project developed by a NGO Fundacio`n Paraguaya in association with USAID. It is a low-cost approach and is developed with the help of new technologies, market driven incentives. It aims towards financial sustainability through women empowerment. The funding of this project is done by USAID. Through this project Fundacio`n Paraguaya understands the problems faced by BPL households, it assesses those problems and formulates an action plan for delivering opportunities to these families. This work is done by providing them with microcredit opportunities, supporting microenterprise development and increasing access to client networks.

The organization aims towards humanitarian efforts to save lives and reduce poverty. The organization strengthens democratic governance and assist people to progress in their own fields. USAID works in over 100 countries to promote health globally, support global stability, provides humanitarian assistance and empowers girls and women. The USAID Administrator, Mark Green believes that “When women do better, countries do better, communities do better and families do better.” Based on this philosophy USAID aims women’s equal access to opportunities.

The organization believes in the ideology that when money is invested on girls and women, the country prospers. It brings together diverse voices and interests in order to drive progress for gender equality. The organize devise advocacy strategies, they provide access to world influencers and build capacity of young people and civil society. It focuses on solutions, not the problems.

  1. Fundacion Paraguaya

It advocates entrepreneurial education and works to instill the spirit of entrepreneurship and creativity and also develops leadership qualities in children and youth. It is a self-sustainable, non-governmental organization. It was founded in the year 1985 and it provides microfinance and entrepreneurship in Paraguay.
