Yoga, the practice that emerged from ancient India has been merging and morphing with the changing socio-political-cultural landscape, to evolve as a framework for spiritual, emotional, and physical transformation through the ages. Undoubtedly, regular Yoga practice brings physical fitness, breath awareness, connection with the mind and finally the inner self.

In all of this, the role of women in yoga – its evolution and development – has been a subject of keen interest and study.

Acknowledging this, today, we have with us Geetika Singh, a certified yoga instructor and fitness trainer, who has set out to encourage people to embark on the yogic journey to witness profound transformation and long-term sustainability.

“Entrepreneurship is rewarding but demanding. Keep learning and evolving.”
Ques. What prompted you to embark on the entrepreneurial journey?

Amidst the COVID chaos when daily lives were disrupted, I saw an opportunity to bring stability and healing through yoga. It’s a calling to spread wellness and mindfulness in the community, society and the entire world. My love for yoga and desire to make a positive impact on others’ lives not just physically, but mentally and emotionally, drove me to take the leap and embark on my entrepreneurial journey.

Ques. What challenges did you face while spreading your wings and how did you address them?

There were many challenges; like, rapport building with clients, adopting to new technology and social media, and being constantly available for multiple clients was the biggest challenge of all.

However, challenges are temporary – they come and go. With consistent effort and patience everything falls in place – this belief, coupled with self-motivation and determination, helped me to overcome challenges all the way.

Being a yoga enthusiast, I indeed love to assist everyone but I have my own set of boundaries and I strongly believe loving yourself and taking care of yourself should be one’s priority.

Ques. What according to you is the real value of yoga/meditation/exercise?

To reflect the real value of these, I have taken the liberty of penning a verse: –

In the quiet breath of morning’s embrace, Yoga weaves peace, a gentle space.

Meditation calms the tempest within,

A haven of stillness, where clarity begins.

Exercise fuels the body, mind, and soul,

Together, they make us whole.

Keeping all these three in place can help in bringing profound transformation and long-term
sustainability.

Ques. Where do you see yourself 10 years down the line?

A few years down the line, I would continue to be deeply rooted with my yoga practice, striving to share its benefits with all. Yoga is a gateway to overall well-being and with continued learning, I envision to explore more areas of holistic wellness such as nutrition, deep meditation and even alternative healing practices. Possibly, I will be also be sharing my insights and experience through articles and journals in the near future.

The future holds endless possibilities, and with my continued enthusiasm, I’m sure to make a lasting impact in the world of yoga and beyond. I hope to live with more presence, peace and compassion. It will be a life -long journey.

Ques. Any words of wisdom for budding women entrepreneurs who wish to follow in your footsteps?

Entrepreneurship is rewarding but demanding. Keep learning and evolving. Celebrate your uniqueness. Take one step at a time, and remain committed to your vision. Your resilience, passion and adaptability will be your greatest assets.
