As 2018 comes to an end, we find ourselves getting into the Christmas mood. It’s that jolly time of year when your friends and family ask what gifts you would like — and then buy you something they think is good for you.
When Christmas is round the corner, Santa cannot be far behind. Looking for a stocking filler or a Secret Santa gift? Finding an inspiring book or a gadget that you wanted under the tree this Christmas, will be sure to help you get your 2019 ‘taking over the world’ plans off on a good start! But, wait, you can pitch higher!
We have all played the “Secret Santa” game, when we had our Secret Santa producing surprise gifts for us. But, here’s a special proposal for women entrepreneurs. This Christmas, instead of waiting and watching out for our Secret Santa, why not you’re yourself your entrepreneurial dream?
Like most people, you have your own wish list. But is what you want, really best for you? What do you think would be an entrepreneur’s dream list — and what a truly entrepreneurial, street-smart Santa Claus might bring you instead. Make your wish list and check it twice: What you really want. What is it that you want right here, right now? Are you fed up of your job? Do you wish for an opportunity to set out on your own – to start your own business? But, you may simply be juggling the idea of starting off on your own, but do not have the drive to step out. Or it may still be a dream…
While reflecting on the power of dreams to shape our futures, Richard Branson, the Virgin Group founder, had said, “Dreaming is one of humanity’s greatest gifts. It champions aspiration, spurs innovation, leads to change and propels us forward. In a world without dreams, there would be no adventure, no moon landing, no female CEOs, no civil rights. What a half-lived and tragic existence we would have. We should all dream big, and encourage others to do so, too.”
So, go ahead play Santa to yourself and step into your dream….and start shaping your business venture from now….the dream of starting off on your own. Your own enterprise is right here…and the power to get it going is in your hands!
