Department of Commerce & Industries
It is a Nodal Department for all round development of industries in the state. It tries to play a catalyst’s role in development and facilitation of industrial sector of the state. It facilitates an industry friendly environment and formulates policies and scheme for achieving so. The five different bodies of the department are: The Directorate of Industries, State Industrial Promotion Board, Boiler Inspectorate, Registrar Firms & Societies, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation. The Department facilitates in making Chhattisgarh the youngest and fastest growing states of India.

Industrial Policy 2014-19
This policy is given by the Department of Industries and Commerce Chhattisgarh for the development of industrial sector. This policy is being introduced for adopting the idea of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ which means moving towards public-oriented administration. The policy aims towards mobilization and utilization of resources like coal, iron, bauxite, dolomite, limestone and other mineral resources. It promotes the design “Make in Chhattisgarh” by assisting the manufacturers with different schemes. It also encourages the residents of the state towards entrepreneurship activities.

Udyam Aakanksha Scheme
This scheme was launched for the promotion and development of micro, small and medium enterprises in the state. This scheme will enable the investors to get free online registration and self-certification for easy investments in micro, small and medium enterprises and other service businesses. The scheme was introduced to the state by the Subodh Singh who is the Secretary, Commerce and Industries. For registering online investors don’t have to submit documents online nor have they to pay any fee.

Chhattisgarh Start-up Challenge
This scheme is launched by Government of Chhattisgarh for entrepreneurs in order to set up a start-up culture in the state. The scheme is introduced in order to provide with some incentives to the entrepreneurs. It also encourages boot camps in all 27 districts of the state in order to recognize potential start-up ideas that can be nurtured further into full scale business. The Government provides support in building start-up plans, in building prototypes, in market testing of products, service and funding.

Start-up Chhattisgarh
Prime Minister of Chhattisgarh has launched this scheme just after the Start-up India scheme was launched for development of entrepreneurs in the state. This scheme provides better facilities and training opportunities to potential entrepreneurs who have business ideas in their mind. This scheme was launched to foster a start-up environment in the state.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute(MSMEDI)
This institute works towards training and development of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises. It functions under MSME Development Organisation set up in 1954 under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise, Government of India.

Industrial policy(2009-2014), Government of Chhattisgarh
Under this policy non resident of India or100% FDI investors will be granted with 5% more subsidy than entrepreneurs of general category and they will be also given more benefit by 5% in maximum limit. Women entrepreneurs, retired soldier from the service of state military and person/family effected from naxailism and handicapped are eligible for 10% more subsidy than entrepreneurs of general category. Maximum limit of subsidy also be enhanced by 10%.In case of time period related cases, exemption shall be of one year more to that of the period given to the entrepreneurs of General category.
