> Where did the inspiration for setting up a business come from?

An embodiment of strength, poise, compassion, grit, and selfless love throughout her life, my mother has always been my biggest inspiration in life. So, it would only be right to say that it was she who inspired me to set up my business. In fact, the name ‘Prisha’ also finds its origin in combining both our names! Prisha also means, a ‘Gift of God’. The company was formed in the loving memory of my mother, and it is my way of thanking her for her undying love and support.

With 23+ years of BFSI (Banking & Financial Services Industry) experience, I have navigated my career through foreign banks, bank backed NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Company) and bank backed KPO (Knowledge Processing Centers). I have also successfully managed and delivered products and services to retail, high & ultra-high net worth and institutional customers.

Given my experience, the mission of Prisha is to be able to deliver on financial planning and capital management to ALL at an affordable price. The vision is to make investing money a easy act by empowering investors with knowledge, techniques and solutions from Prisha’s bouquet of products and services. Our values are client first, ethical, transparent, inclusive, innovative and responsible.

> How easy or tough has it been for you, as a woman entrepreneur, to set up and promote your business?

In my humble experience and view, life is NEVER easy for a women professional. Whether you are working in the corporate world or starting your entrepreneurial journey, you have to give it your 1000% ALL the time. Nothing comes easy, no matter how smart, hardworking, passionate and disciplined you are. It was a difficult decision for me to switch myself from a leadership position in a reputed foreign bank (letting go of 23+ years of reputation, goodwill, senior position, decent pay) to start my own company from scratch. As I kept deliberating this within me over months, the decision became easy one day. By January 2024, I was ready to lay the foundation of my company and leave behind a legacy of three decades. I had realized that I was at the right cusp of my career to take that entrepreneurial plunge – it was a ‘now or never’
situation. The biggest support for my decision obviously came from my family.

It’s been four months of having started this new journey and I have been consciously treading the path of work and more hard work. Indeed, for such a vast business to take robust roots will take time – but I am working ahead patiently! I have gauged that the years ahead will demand lot of focus, passion, grit and perseverance – and my sleeves are rolled up for it!

> Do you think women entrepreneurs support other women across the value chain of business? How have you impacted/supported/mentored the careers of other women?

Absolutely. I take immense pride in sharing that my biggest supporters, consultants, advisors, friends, are my elder sisters. One of them is an entrepreneur herself and the second is employed with a reputed global firm. Had it not been for them having my back throughout, the confidence and zeal to be at this sweet spot of my career now would not have been a reality!

Infact, my entire family, including my parents and elder brother have been a constant pillar of strength for me. Their mindset and ideologies about empowering women and enabling them to become financially independent have shaped my life and ideologies as well.

Shifting focus from my personal support system, I would like to say that in my corporate life, I had been one of the biggest supporters of women employees (peers, seniors, team, direct reports, etc). It has been a conscious endeavor to empower women, and in the process, I have innovated and created platforms for them to deliver and shine. I have promoted meritocracy throughout, and have ensured safe working environment (free speech & peace loving ecosystem) while simultaneously becoming a friend, facilitator and guide to my team members (both women and men), as and when required.

> How has the support of friends and family played a role in your being a successful entrepreneur? How do you balance your professional and personal life?

First part, I have sort of answered above already from family perspective. Other than them, I had the opportunity to work with brilliant minds in the corporate world, many of whom are my friends, philosopher, guides (personal advisors) and critiques as well. From time to time, they have helped me (both consciously and subconsciously) navigate the complexity of the corporate world, every step of the way.

I am extremely methodical and a brilliant time manager. I have a knack of planning day ahead, every single day. Since I do not cut corners, I am able to strike the perfect balance between my professional and personal life.

> What is the road ahead in 2024-2025?

Undoubtedly, I am and will be, devoting all my energy, focus and passion in establishing Prisha Wealth Management as a full-fledged investment advisory firm. Thereafter, I plan to diversify -but first things first!
